Syed Abdul Hakeem is a distinguished philanthropist and experienced business entrepreneur whose vision and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the organization’s journey since its inception. Alongside his social initiatives, he has successfully ventured into and led multiple business enterprises, bringing strong strategic, operational, and leadership expertise that continues to strengthen his approach to social impact.
He established Hetch Foundation in year 2003 with a clear purpose to address pressing social challenges through structured, sustainable, and community-driven interventions. Deeply moved by the hardships faced by individuals and communities, he envisioned an institution that would not only create awareness but also empower people to become active participants in driving meaningful and lasting change.
Over the past two decades, under his visionary leadership, Hetch Foundation has grown into a credible and impact-driven organization.
Its sustained progress reflects his strategic approach, commitment to transparency, and focus on delivering measurable outcomes. By fostering strong stakeholder engagement and adopting a people-centric approach, he has ensured that the Foundation’s initiatives remain relevant, scalable, and impactful.
A key strength of his leadership lies in his global perspective. Having travelled to more than 36 countries, he has gained valuable insights into community engagement, behavioral transformation, and empowerment. These learnings have enabled him to integrate global best practices with local realities, strengthening the Foundation’s ability to create sustainable impact.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to road safety, he initiated the nationwide movement “HarGhar Se EkSainik” more than six years ago to address the issue of road safety and preventable fatalities. The initiative focuses on promoting responsible behavior and fostering a culture where road safety becomes a lifelong habit.
Syed Abdul Hakeem is a patron member of the Indian Red Cross Society and is also a member of several national and international organizations, as well as humanitarian aid bodies. His active association with these institutions reflects his deep-rooted commitment to social welfare, compassion-driven leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility towards community upliftment and collaborative development.
